DOT compliance, actually handled
Compliance platforms hand you a portal, a login and a to-do list, then bill you again for every drug test, every MVR and every PSP report. Ultralus builds your driver qualification files, chases your drivers for the documents, runs your testing program and stands next to you in the audit.

The difference
Most of this category sells software. You still do the data entry, you still chase the driver, and the third-party costs still land on your desk one invoice at a time.
What you stop paying for
These are line items most fleets are paying for right now across several vendors, at retail, plus the salary of whoever chases them. With Ultralus they are not add-ons. They are the service.
Testing
Pre-employment, random, post-accident and reasonable suspicion, run through our consortium.
Records
At hire and at every annual review, for every driver on your roster.
Screening
Crash and inspection history on every applicant before you put them in a truck.
Federal
Registration, pre-employment full queries and annual limited queries, managed by us.
Files
We build it, we chase the driver, we keep it current under 49 CFR Part 391.
Training
Under 15 minutes, no login required, insurance approved, reminders sent for you.
Monitoring
We watch your BASIC scores and flag what is moving before your insurer notices.
Audit
We deal with the auditor, produce the documents and attend on site if it comes to that.
What we do
You send us a name and a phone number. We take it from there and tell you when the driver is qualified to work.
01
DOT application, MVR and PSP review, Clearinghouse query and pre-employment drug screen. We contact the driver directly and collect every document.
02
We build the file, then keep it alive. Expiring CDLs and DOT physicals get chased by text before they lapse. Annual reviews happen without a reminder from you.
03
A compliant policy, Clearinghouse setup, TPA services and a DOT random pool. Testing is included in the monthly rate, not billed per event.
04
DOT portal setup, MCS-150 updates, CSA monitoring and DataQ assistance. When an audit lands, we communicate with the auditor and represent you through it.
05
Monthly safety training drivers actually finish. Under 15 minutes, no sign-in, relevant to what they drive, insurance approved. We send reminders, you get reporting.
06
Run vehicles over 10,000 pounds in commerce and you are FMCSA-regulated, even if you never called yourself a trucking company. Most of our customers found out the hard way.
Pricing
Compliance software is cheaper per driver because a server is doing the work, which mostly means you are doing the work. Our price buys the hours, and it absorbs the third-party costs that normally arrive as surprise invoices.
$150
Per driver · first month
Onboarding: application, MVR, PSP, Clearinghouse query, pre-employment drug screen and a complete DQ file built from nothing.

Questions
We do. Most compliance companies give you a portal and expect you to upload the documents yourself. Ultralus builds the file for every new hire and for any existing driver whose file is incomplete. We email and text the driver directly to collect what is missing, so it does not sit on your desk.
DOT drug and alcohol consortium membership and testing, MVR pulls, PSP reports, FMCSA Clearinghouse queries, driver qualification file build and maintenance, monthly driver safety training, CSA monitoring, MCS-150 updates and DOT audit representation. There are no per-test, per-MVR or per-report charges on top of it.
We communicate with the auditor directly, produce the compliance documents, coach you through anything else they investigate, and attend on site if it comes to that. Audit representation is part of the service, not a separate engagement priced when you are already in trouble.
Insurance prices risk, and underwriters treat the FMCSA requirements as the floor, not the target. To earn better terms you have to visibly exceed them. We know what underwriters look for, and a clean file room plus documented monthly training plus controlled CSA scores is most of it.
There is no magic bullet. You lower the score by removing the causes: set real safety policies, train drivers on pre-trip inspections, hours of service and safe driving behavior, qualify your new hires so you stop hiring your next problem, and get your compliance in order so an audit does not add to it.
Probably yes. If you run vehicles over 10,000 pounds in commerce, you are FMCSA-regulated, whether you are a construction contractor, a landscaper, a utility crew, a towing operator or a delivery fleet. Most of the companies we onboard did not know they were regulated until an accident or an audit told them.
Tell us how many drivers you have. We will tell you exactly what it costs and what comes off your desk.
